Unsupervised use of Fig Newtons

Call it a parenting fail of sorts. I am sure every mom has done it. A crying, irritable baby in the back seat, a 20 minute car ride home, and a little bag of fig newtons brought for a snack.

What to do?

Why not hand one or two to little miss fussy pants in the back seat to help quell the noise for a headache free drive home?

Well, this is why...

I'd call that a parenting WIN!

That's cute. However I'm more concerned with your car seat buckling on Emily. The straps are too loose and the chest clip is too low which in an accident will cause internal injuries.

^ this website gives great advice on how to properly buckle an infant into a seat.

I'd actually already loosened the straps before taking the picture so she would be more comfortable and smile... when I stop the car she knows we are home and starts getting antsy. That's all. Thanks for your concern, though :)

It never fails that posting a photo of your kid in a car seat will cause someone an issue. LOL.

At least you were on the way home. Imagine if you'd given her the Newtons and had somewhere to be! :-)

:) I love how the fig newtons are all smashed into the straps. I'm glad she had fun...and you made it home in a quiet car. :)

That is fabulous! She looks happy though, so I call it a win.
