The Fairy Hobmother

Leaving a comment on this post will give you a chance to win a $50 Amazon.com gift card.  Seriously.  Here is why...

On the day of my daughters birth I was contacted by the lovely Fairy Hobmother.  Never heard of her before?  Well, its her job to go around the blog-o-sphere and grant wishes to bloggers.  How nifty is that?

The Fairy Hobmother was kind enough to gift me a $50 Amazon gift card!  And what did I do with the $50 gift card?  Well, what any new mom who's world just shifted when an amazing baby girl enters it, buy things for her!  Specifically I bought several books to fill her shelves and build on the meager collection I had before she arrived.  In my opinion there is nothing better for a child than a full book shelf.

So, what would you do if you were to be gifted a $50 gift card to Amazon?

One of you who comments will be lucky enough to be visited by the Fairy Hobmother, too!  If she happens to choose you please let me know!

How fun! I would use the gift card to purchase something for my May 2012 wedding...since I'm living, breathing, eating wedding plans right now! Thanks for the opportunity. Hope you and your sweet baby are doing well.

I would buy more fabric! With the holidays coming up I would to make some more fabric christmas bags rather than use paper this year. I can't wait to be more green!
Congrats on the baby!

I would buy books for my Kindle! Now that my daughter is getting to the point where she can entertain herself for longer periods of time, I can read again...but I forgot how fast I devour books. It's all too easy to click and have a new book delivered in seconds. I'm spending a small fortune.

I just had to click on this post to find out what the Fairy Hobmother was. lol If I was gifted a $50 amazon card I would absolutely use it on my kiddos to get the abacus and puzzles I've had my eye on. All of my kids think puzzles are just the greatest thing ever and the abacus helps with the counting up to 100.

I have a little wish list going at Amazon, full of books for myself (YAY!) and my kids. I would probably purchase those, or use it for Holiday shopping (or both). I'm so proud of all the Holiday shoppers on here! I love it!
BTW, I don't think you should pay for the anesthesia that ran down your back and not INTO your back! Just sayin'! (And they never should have sent you home in the first place!)
Congratulations on your baby girl!

I would buy some new books for my boys! (2 1/2 and 1) My favorite thing to do at night is pile in my bed and read some books before I send them off to their bed. Best sunggly bonding time ever! :)

Fairy Hobmothers sound fun! Well, I just have to get in on this so, to be honest...I'd hide it from my hubby so that I could stash it away to apply towards a Christmas gift for him. It's so hard to buy him gifts!

I have spent much money on my baby girl at amazon and never seem to run out of things to buy. There are a couple of baby related things on my wish list right now :)

My husband and I are expecting our first little one, and I would love to start a stockpile of diapers, clothes, cloth diapers, books, or odds and ends we need for the baby. I am so glad you were able to pick up some more books! I'm a children's book author and there is nothing as important as a child's imagination.

Oh I would use it to buy a book on hypothyroidism and some fun books too. And spend the rest on Christmas gifts for some special friends. =)

That's a really nice thing to do! I'm not sure what I'd buy...but I'm sure I'd think of something clever to do with a gift card! :)

Mel said...

Oh, there are so many things I could buy! But the practical person in me would probably start Christmas shopping.

Anonymous said...

Hmm, that's a rather open-ended question. So, one of three things. Start Christmas shopping, use it as birthday money for myself, or use it to buy music for my sister. But it would almost definitely involve buying books, no matter which of the three!

That's really sweet! (and cool!)

I'd use it toward purchasing my Husband the Star Trek series he's been drooling over for months!

Since I find myself indecisive much of the time...I don't really know what I would do with it. I just know it would be gone on something sooner rather than later because buying stuff is fun!! Camera things or things for hubby or kiddo's is where it would go...somehow?? lol. very cool to have a fairy hobmother! Hope you are finding a way to get rest!! Emily is precious!

What a wonderful gift for you and Emily!

With $50 from Amazon, I could buy some pretty good books for my Kindle.

I have a daughter also, and even though she is old enough to buy her own things, I would love to buy her a new outfit. She worked very hard this summer (70+ hours per week) to earn money for college and I am very proud of her!

Daughters are never to old to spoil!

My grand daughter will become a Doctor of Phys. Therapy in May. She wants to enter a triatholon just after that. I would give it to her...she needs a new bike.
Congrats on the new little one. I followed you through the hurricane and worried like a Mom about you. At that time I was having trouble commenting on your blog...but now it's fixed. Blessings to your little family.

Hmmm... I dont know what happened to my comment. I posted yesterday right after CoasterKim..... I said congratulations to you and the baby for being visited by Fairy Hobmother ... you are very fortunate in so many ways... :) I'm looking so forward to more pictures.... If Fairy Hobmother were to visit me, I would purchase a book for my husband for his birthday Which is Christmas Eve.... The book would either be photographs by Andrea Booher from her "portaits" of 9/11 or from Charlotte Dumas with the 9/11 Rescue Dogs... :)

I would use the giftcard to purchase inflatable roof racks. I now live in CA but am returning to Vermont to stay with my Dad in a few weeks.

I would buy the books from my daughter's seventh grade reading list. People have to continue to purchase books in their print version or they publishers are going to slowly but surely not print them but go to electronic sources for people to read. laura h
